Mr Gumpy's Outing
By: John Burningham
This is a wonderful baby book idea to add to your baby's bookshelf. What happens when Mr Gumpy takes a goat, calf, chickens, sheep, pig, dog, cat, rabbit and children for a ride in his boat? They end up wet of course! I adore John Burningham's books and illustrations, thankfully Cosmo agrees. Other favourites by the same author are Borka; The Adventures of a Goose with no feathers, Avocado Baby and Husherbye. Just gorgeous.

Where The Wild Things Are
By: Maurice Sendak
Max gets up to mischief and is sent to bed without supper. He sails away to where the Wild Things are and becomes King of the Wild Things! Cosmo can't get enough of this book and is completely silent and involved as we read about Max's journey. A fun book.

The Gruffalo
By: Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler
The Gruffalo is the first in a collection of books by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler and it is an award winner. As with all their books the Gruffalo rhymes throughout and there is a lot to point out and name in the pictures. These books are often picked first from Cosmo's book pile and are definite favourites.

Up The Duff
By: Kaz Cooke
I have every pregnancy book under the sun but this is THE ONE. This book is hilarious and gives you just enough information to keep you relaxed as well as recommending where to go for further information on particular areas. Very highly recommended.
