These baby boxes are simple to make and have so many uses.
I use them:

• As book boxes.
• To store the DVD's that Jamie enjoys the most.  They are the perfect size.
• To keep his small toys in, like his plastic animals.

When Jamie was a baby I covered a wine cask with photos  sat it in front of him when he was having tummy time.  I could turn the box around so he could see the photos of us.  I would tell him about our day and what we do and remind him that his Grandma and Grandpa love him.  

A wine cask is a great box to recycle as the cardboard is really stong and it is a great size.  Of course you want to cover up the words on the box! Photos are the best things to use as they are thick and prevent you from seeing the words .  You could of course cover the box in anything you like.

When you have finished covering the box put transparent adhesive over the top to protect your box and the photos.

This is a great way to use the photos that people send you.  

Shoe boxes are also great to use to make baby boxes out of.  


Personalised boxes make a wonderful gift for a new baby.  Here are some simple new baby gift boxes ideas:

From your craft shop or book shop you can buy ready made boxes. Instead of buying these and putting your wonderfully hand knitted layette in, why not personalise the box first.  

Make your own new baby gift boxes by:

Gluing photos or other memorabilia relevant to the year the baby was born.

Stencil the name of the new baby on the box and add the newspaper clipping from the hospital.....dad's text message......the first e-mail message......the first photo you received of the new baby.....the list is endless.  

The new mother will love to receive this gift.
