As a new parent I was bombarded with a lot of baby health advice. Most of it was well meaning however most of it was also conflicting with what I thought made sense or the advice I had been given the day before. It can be difficult to find reliable baby health advice about your new born baby's health.

However help is now on the way in the form of Baby Facts, a book by pediatrician Andrew Adesman. In this latest book Adesman addresses some of the many baby health myths that have surrounded baby health care and toddler health care. Such as:

• Ear infections need to be treated with antibiotics.
• Newborns and infants should be bathed daily.

This book explores these and many other common baby health myths in areas such as feeding, sleeping, toilet training, and illness to help you separate baby facts from baby fiction.

Doctors don't always know best, and Andy Adesman has faced up to that. He and his wife, both pediatricians, found themselves butting heads over basic child rearing, like whether their three kids would catch a cold if they went outside without a coat: "I'd say, 'Where did they teach you that? It's not true!' "

So Adesman started looking into common beliefs about baby and child care and found that he and his fellow doctors get more than a few things wrong themselves. He did the research, and tells what's true and what's not in his new book Baby Facts.
