I was totally amazed one day when my 14 month old son starting pointing to his palm over and over obviously wanting something.  I was so intrigued that I phoned my friend who we had just spent time with and asked her if she knew why.  She told me that he was showing me the sign for more!  He had obviously learnt this off her daughter, his 14 month old friend who had a stock pile of about 40 signs to her name.  I was sold instantly and began learning some signs myself to teach him.  Within days he was using signs for words he could not say, such as 'please' and 'thank-you'.  It really is a wonderful experience having your 14 month old use manners and quite unique I would think!

This baby sign language book is clear in its lay out and explanations and the method is easy to follow. It comes highly recommended by many parents.
